As a result of Monday’s service outage at RIM, BlackBerry users may have noticed periodic interruptions with Viigo Channel Updates and new Viigo Downloads. In case you didn’t catch yesterday’s headlines, there was a BlackBerry service outage between 3:30PM EST and 6:30 PM EST on Monday that affected millions of North American BlackBerry users because of a System Upgrade. “Service was restored fully and quickly”, commented James Basillie, CO-CEO of RIM, adding, “At the core, virtually all of these things tend to happen on service upgrades… it was pretty focused and isolated and we recovered well”.
he service didn’t affect voice and text messages. No emails were lost and message queues are already clearing at normal service levels.
